How NM-CCCR protects visitor and research participant data.

The New Mexico Center for Cyberpsychology and Cybersecurity Research (NM-CCCR, "we," "us," or "our") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research organization. NM-CCCR serves as the data controller for all information collected through this website (cyberpsychologyresearch.io). We are committed to protecting the privacy of researchers, participants, educators, and all visitors to our website.
2. Research Data Handling
As a research organization, NM-CCCR adheres to the highest standards of research ethics and data protection:
- All research involving human participants is conducted in accordance with applicable IRB requirements.
- Research data is collected only with informed consent from participants or their legal guardians.
- Personally identifiable research data is stored securely and separately from published findings.
- Research participants may withdraw their consent and request data deletion at any time.
- Published research uses only de-identified, aggregated data.
3. FERPA Compliance
When conducting research in educational settings, NM-CCCR complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). We do not collect, store, or process student education records through this website.
4. COPPA Compliance
NM-CCCR complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). This website is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
5. Data Collection Disclosure
CyberpsychologyResearch.io collects minimal data through:
- Contact Form: Full name, email address, organization (optional), and message content.
- Support/Giving Page: Donation payment processing is handled by third-party processors. NM-CCCR does not directly collect or store financial information.
6. Cookies and Tracking
This website does not use cookies, third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or any other form of user tracking technology.
7. Third-Party Services
The site is hosted on Vercel. Donation processing is handled by established third-party payment processors with their own privacy policies.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Contact form submissions are retained no longer than 90 days. Research data retention follows applicable IRB protocols. You may request deletion at michael@merek.io.
9. Data Security
All data transmission is encrypted via TLS/SSL. Access to submitted data is restricted to authorized NM-CCCR personnel only.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to any personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
- If you are a research participant, withdraw from any study at any time
